With an off season that was full of scandal, FBI investigations and staff firings, for most true college basketball fans the start of the season can not come soon enough. As the games begin for real on Friday all over the country and aboard, its time to take our annual stab at projecting what the NCAA tournament field might look like come March.
The same cast of characters heads the field once again with Kansas, Duke, Michigan State and Kentucky garnering top seeds. And while more of basketball’s blue bloods take their usual place among the top seeds, there are a few new names, like St. Bonaventure, who have made the preseason field of 68.
So here is the first bracket of the season. Let the games (and changes to this bracket) begin!
