Former Blazers, now Celtics Center Enes Kanter was texting back and forth with some of the guys at The Undefeated yesterday, saying that the Blazers only gave him six minutes to call his family and discuss whether he wanted to stay in Portland or not.
I totally get that, family is wicked important and we all know the deal between Kanter and Turkey and how he can’t discuss anything with his family which is completely insane, but that’s a different story for a different day. The juicy part of this whole ordeal is what now-former teammate Damian Lillard had to say about it.
I’m thinking this is “a whole lotta Hullabaloo” as my Grandma would say. Need more convincing? Here’ what Jusuf Nurkic had to say about it.
‘Curious-Thinking Face’ indeed Jusuf. I strongly dislike Enes Kanter. The guy starts beef with nearly everyone in the NBA. Do I blame him? No, I don’t blame him one bit. I mean I’m writing an article about the guy for crying out loud. But if you think the Blazers actually gave this guy six minutes to make a decision you’re out of your mind. I’m going to go with Dame and Nurkic on this one and call shenanigans. Kanter probably dragged his feet and tried to negotiate an insane amount of money or something along those lines, until the Blazers showed they weren’t messing around and then he got defensive and is trying to throw them under the bus. Well, the joke’s on you now Enes, have fun playing in Boston. I’ll let all of you beautiful people decide whether you believe this or not.
