The Ball Hogs lost a significant asset in their season opener when Jermaine Taylor exited the early stages of the game with a ruptured Achilles.
Monday, they added BIG3 veteran Qyntel Woods to take his spot on the roster. Woods played for 3 Headed Monsters a season ago and was an integral piece to their playoff run.
Last year Woods posted averaged around 10 points, five rebounds and two assists off the bench. He went undrafted in this year’s BIG3 Draft but with experience in the league, he became a coveted free agent to add early in the season.
Woods, 38, was a first-round pick back in 2002 by the Portland Trailblazers but has found the most success playing overseas. He’s a three-time Polish League champion, Polish League MVP and a Slam Dunk champion in the Greek League. He showed he’s still got ups when he scored this game-winner last season.
This is Ball Hogs second addition of the season after Rick Barry’s squad had to replace third-round pick Dusan Bulut due to his withdraw from the league. However, free agent Marcus Williams proved his worth in Week 1 recording 10 points and a league-high five assists in their 50-39 loss to Ghost Ballers.
