Each week, we submit 3 separate lineups into DraftKing’s 7 Million dollar giveaway. Our lineups are a combination of our fantasy research/articles throughout the week (NFL Studs and Duds, Value Plays), while combining weather conditions, player health, and team and individual match ups for each position.
Let’s get to it.
Peyton Manning has progressively improved each week this season. While taking D. Thomas’ neck injury into consideration, we still like the tandem in our third favorite lineup this week against Oakland. The all star lineup features Le’Veon Bell and Jamaal Charles as our featured backs, with workhorse TJ Yeldon in the flex.
Hankerson and Antonio Gates both find themselves in redemption games, with Hankerson facing the team who drafted him, and Gates proving that no PED’s are needed to find the endzone.
We are stuck with the Saints defense in Philly, which could be this lineup’s downfall. However, given the slow start for the Eagles, we are willing to gamble.
Matty Ice deserves a starting gig in fantasy this week, but we’re not pairing him up with the most expensive WR option in Julio Jones. Jones has been nursing a very minor hamstring injury, and although he’s cleared and fully ready to go, we can’t justify the premium.
Instead, we look to Leonard Hankerson facing off against the team that gave up on him, the Washington Redskins. Ryan’s number 2 option has something to prove, and the Falcon’s signal caller will give him the chance today.
Forsett faces a poor Browns defensive line, Randall Cobb is Randall Cobb, and Emmanuel Sanders and Todd Gurley provide knockout punch potential for this lineup.
Add in a couple Jameis Winston INTs, and a garbage TD for Browns TE Gary Barnidge, and you’ve got yourself a winner.
1. Perfect Lineup
Out of every lineup we have constructed this season, this one ranks the highest. The Tom Brady/Julian Edelman tandem is guaranteed points, and a more consistent option than paying a hefty premium for Gronk. Le’Veon Bell is poised for a huge MNF game against the Chargers defense, who ranks dead last in the NFL.
At RB2, we have Jacksonville’s new workhorse, TJ Yeldon. Yeldon is the clear starting back for the Jags, getting 20+ carries and a handful of receptions on a consistent basis.
Our favorite WR this week is Keenan Allen, who will see increased targets with a depleted WR corp in San Diego. At $7200, he is a must play. We’ve added Leonard Hankerson, Matt Ryan’s clear cut #2 option behind Julio Jones, in his revenge game against the team that drafted him, the Washington Redskins.
Our favorite TE rejoins our lineup this week after rewarding us in week 4 with 23 points. Charles Clay will be dancing in the endzone today.
The wildcard in this lineup is Ameer Abdullah. The rookie back has shown flashes of stardom (especially in week 1) yet the struggling Lions offense has kept Abdullah from truly breaking out. If Abdullah can finally break through this week in Arizona, this lineup has big money written all over it.
If you copy one lineup from us this week, make it this one. With 7 million on the line, we might as well win together.
